The First Thing You Must Learn is to Connect Ubuntu To Internet.

When You are connecting it with Internet Directly (Not by Using Proxy Server)
Then To Create a DSL Connection.

Click on That Button,Where Pointer is Present.
If not Present
System---->Preferences-->Network Connections.

This is What it looks,
U wont be able to See AUTO etho,It is created by me .

Go To "DSL" Tab

Now Press "Add"

Now Add Username and Password
Which are Provided By Your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
